The laboratory study of melting kinetics provides interesting information on the propensity of a given vitrifiable mixture to melt easily or, on the contrary, to generate problems such as inclusions, bubbles, foam formation, etc.
This test allows to obtain a comparative estimate of the degree of melting ability and batch-free time under static conditions, useful for example for evaluating in advance the replacement of a raw material with another, or for investigating the melting behavior of a new batch formulation.
